Licensing KADMOS(CL) Software
Overview
The KADMOS(CL) software is distributed as both a 32-bit and 64-bit Windows DLL, along with associated static libraries. To eliminate the need for hardware dongles, KADMOS(CL) includes a software-based licensing system. This document provides guidelines to ensure a smooth setup and activation process.
Key Licensing Requirements and Recommendations
- Single-Computer Binding: Each KADMOS(CL) license is bound to a single computer during the activation process. Once activated, the license cannot be transferred to another system. If you need additional licenses, please contact re Recognition GmbH.
- Mandatory Files for Validation: The following files are essential for license validation:
KADMOS.LICKADMOS.LICACTIVATION
These files must be in the same directory (or a parent directory) as your application and the KADMOS DLL. Deleting or relocating these files will render the software inoperable.
Please note: Once these files are deleted or removed, reactivation is not possible. You will need to contact re Recognition GmbH for assistance in obtaining a new license.
Back up both
KADMOS.LICandKADMOS.LICACTIVATIONfiles to external storage immediately after activation. This precaution ensures recovery in case of accidental file loss or system crashes. - Online Activation Requirement: Initial license activation requires an internet connection and access to
secure.softwarekey.comvia the TLS protocol on port 443. Ensure your network configuration permits this access to avoid activation issues. After successful activation, the software can operate in offline mode without further online checks.
- Evaluation License Time Limits: Evaluation licenses are time-limited. Ensure you activate a full license before the evaluation period expires to prevent service interruptions.
License Activation Process
- Activation Prompt: When a classifier is loaded for the first time, a dialog box will prompt for license activation. Follow the instructions in the dialog to complete the activation process.
- Post-Activation Usage: After activation, the DLL and static libraries will be fully protected and operational in offline mode. Ensure the
KADMOS.LICandKADMOS.LICACTIVATIONfiles remain accessible as described. - Multiple Activation Attempts: Activation is limited to one attempt per license. If additional activations are required (e.g., due to hardware changes), contact re Recognition GmbH.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can I move the software to a different directory or drive? | The files KADMOS.LIC, KADMOS.LICACTIVATION, and KADMOS.DLL must be in the same directory as your application. Moving them elsewhere will cause validation to fail. |
| Can I test my application on a customer's computer before purchasing a runtime license? | Licenses are tied to a specific computer. Contact us to obtain an evaluation or additional runtime license. |
| Why do I see the message "Incompatible KADMOS(CL) version"? | This occurs when files from different KADMOS(CL) versions are mixed. Ensure all components are from the same version. |
| What should I do if the message "KADMOS(CL).DLL corrupt" appears? | This indicates an unauthorized, corrupt, or modified DLL file. Replace it with an authorized version. |
| Why does the message "Your clock has been turned back" appear? | This occurs if the system time has been manipulated. Correct the system clock and restart the application. |
| What should I do if "Your maximal number of licensing attempts is used up" appears? | This indicates all activation attempts have been exhausted. Contact re Recognition GmbH for further assistance. |
| How can I recover from file loss due to a crash? | Restore the files from your backup or contact support for additional guidance. |
